FAQs
If you have a question not answered below, please feel free to contact me.
How much does it cost?
I try to maintain a reasonably affordable fee for private counselling of £45 per session. Each session lasts for 50 minutes and the number of sessions can end when you feel ready.
How often do I need to attend?
I strongly recommend our sessions be weekly (same time & day each week) as it has been found to be most effective. However, I appreciate lives are complicated and I can consider fortnightly sessions (subject to availability).
Do you offer face-to-face sessions?
Face-to-face (in-person) counselling is and option I plan to offer again in the future. I'm currently only able to offer sessions online (Zoom) or via telephone.
How confidential is it?
Confidentiality is essential for all counsellors. All personal details and discussions are private unless significant legal requirements necessitate otherwise. You will always be made aware first in such situations.
How can you help?
I can offer you a safe and confidential space to explore problems, thoughts, feelings and emotional distress. The aim is the help give you a better understanding of yourself and others, which might then, in turn, help your various relationships.
I need immediate help now!
My service is primarily for those seeking a deep and gradual resolution.
If you need help with immediate danger or a mental health crisis, please contact Energency Services on 999, or Non-Emergency Assistance on 101.
What can't you help with?
Counselling is not about advice or being told what to do. I wouldn't be prescribing any medication or helping directly with practical problems. While I might offer insight or perspective based on experience, the space will be yours, for you alone.
